We've been blessed with wonderful weather the last week. The kids have enjoyed it. Yesterday, Ian got his yellow belt in Karate! Very exciting day. Here's a few pictures of Leah, who gets her picture taken when Ian is at school.

How can a blog make you feel guilty? Well this one does. I hope to one day be able to give all these entries to my kids so that is where the guilt comes in. Don and I aren't frantic videographers or photographers. Between this one and Don's blog, they should be able to piece together something of their childhood. Right?

The winter has been kind to us. Since Leah's birthday, everyone has been healthy up until this week. We all caught a little cold, nothing serious. Leah's birthday was really fun for her. We had a house party with a big princess cake. Some of the kids did crafts and the biggest hit was the Princess and the Pea game where you had to find the ball while sitting on pillows. Ian celebrated by losing his first tooth!

Ian started Karate this winter and really likes it. He also tried basketball and had a really great coach. I wish I could have learned from him. Leah switched dance places and takes tap class on Saturdays. She also tried a soccer/basketball class for little kids. Two activities each was a lot, but it is hard to keep the kids active in the winter. We will settle in for the spring with one activity each. Both kids are getting so tall and grown up. Ian is reading like a champ and Leah knows almost all her letters. Both are doing great in school from what we hear.

Don is super busy with school and church and the ambulance and training for the May marathon in Vermont. He makes me feel so lazy. I've just been trying to squeeze in a little exercise and working a lot. Thank goodness for the time change last week (not to mention the fantastic weather). It is starting to feel a little like Spring. Coming up is Easter, which the kids will enjoy and April break. We are staying local to save money.

Well, hopefully that covers some things and I'll try to blog a little more often.

I've become woefully horrible at blogging. My days are just too full and my creativity is pretty low when it comes to writing anyway. I even get guilty about not documenting everything my kids do. I know I'll forget how cute and smart and wonderful they are at this age and it makes me sad.

The anticipation for Christmas is over the top this year. Ian's been counting down and even Leah has tried to do it too. She doesn't get it though. The Elf on the Shelf made a return with much success. No one is afraid of it this year. Leah's better than Ian is at finding it. :)

Ian recently got glasses because we found out his left eye is lazy. He loves them so far, but we will be going again to the doctor's office in February to find out what the next steps are.

We hosted the PA Cornes for Thanksgiving and it was so fun and relaxing and casual. I don't think I saw my kids from Wednesday night until Saturday morning when they left. They just had a blast playing with their cousins. My first turkey didn't even come out horrible. We are going to try to make another one for New Years.

Leah's 3rd birthday is right around the corner. Seems like she was just born, doesn't it? He is looking forward to her first real party. It is princess themed (of course). Cinderella all the way. I feel blessed to take all next week off to spend time with the kids. Time just seems to go by so fast (except when working).

Merry Christmas everyone!

Hey everyone! Long time, no post. Last night was a big night at our house. The Binkie Fairy came to visit! She took Leah's binkies and left her with a new little Pony and a Sleeping Beauty costume (with shoes and purse!). She did cry a little at bedtime, so Ian climbed into bed with her. Yes, occasionally, he can be sweet.

Ian is doing well in Kindergarten as far as I can tell. He is slowly but surely progressing on his bathroom issues. Reading is going MUCH better and he can read most 4 or 5 letter words now. He plays soccer on Saturday mornings and enjoys being on a team.

Leah loves pre-school and REALLY enjoys her dance class on Wednesday mornings. She took to it like bees to honey. She asks me every morning if it is time for dance class. She may be doing a little show in December, we aren't sure yet if her class is participating.

Don is pretty busy too. He started back to school to take all the prerequistes to go to nursing school. Go Don!

Just read the last post and many of those open ended items have solved themselves. I have my laptop cord back. It was in Leah's diaper bin, of course!

Not a lot of time to post, but wanted to share a picture of Ian's latest accomplishment. BTW, this is the same kid who wouldn't get his head wet 4 weeks ago. See what having a pool does?

How can a month have almost gone by since the last post? Impossible!! While June was so SLOW, July has flown. We have been in the house for 2 weeks and I'm still loving it. Good sign for the next 30 years or so. We have unpacked all the living areas and the only item missing is the power cord to my laptop. I got another one online, but I'd like my original back please. Only one thing broke - our bed! It is just the post and Don thinks he can fix it.

Last night, I worked on going through bins in the office. I threw out a ton! Amazing that you throw out stuff when you pack and then throw out more when you unpack. Our computer at home is super slow for some reason. Hopefully that will improve.

Kids are doing well. Leah is potty training and doing very well. Ian is busy with Safety Town, swimming lessons and camp. He has very busy days and is so tired at the end of the day. I just love summer!

The good thing about being at my parents is that we have more time to do things. Now the weather hasn't been great, but Don and the kids have made due. Here's what they've done in the last month. Yes, these are all crappy cell phone pictures.

Went Bowling

Skipped Stones

Visited Cleo

Acted like Rock Stars

Got teeth cleaned by their favorite hygenist

Swang in Nana & Papa's backyard

Drove a Truck

Played Wii

Now, we have only a few days left before we move into our new house. I hope that they had a good time while in transition and that they come to love the new house just as much as Don and I do.
