A forum....to hear my thoughts!

Gosh it has been awhile! I thought I've posted more recently, but I guess not. Anyway, work has been very busy, so I have a good excuse. I don't have a huge amount of stuff to say except that I'm hot all the time. I wear short sleeves to work and I'm still hot. My feet are sweating right now. I had my glucose test last week and I'm waiting to hear the results. If you are looking for some mighty fine flat orange soda, the glucose test is the way to go. I had to visit the hospital to register at the same time and I almost asked them if I could stay and have the baby. But I thought better of it and decided I'll stick it out the next (gulp!) 12 weeks!

It's another rainy, gloomy day here in CT. I swear we must be getting record rainfall this year. I'll have to look that up. Anyway, Don took me to dinner for my birthday last night. We went to Acqua and had a nice quiet meal. I didn't really like what I ordered, but that will happen every once in a while. If you ever see Salmon wrapped in phylo dough on the menu, skip it.

It seems Ian has come down with a little cold. Bummer. Don and I are going to try to get some more yard work done this weekend. We are probably 50% done with what needs to happen and that is with 3 work days under our belt. We should finish just in time for fall :).

I'm so hot at work, I can barely stand it. It is just me, other people are cold. It must be this pregnancy with the double female hormones. Don surprised me for our anniversery and got me another wedding band - with diamonds! It was very pretty, but me being a girl and all, I had to see what else was out there. I picked out a new one last night and I really like it. Let's see if I can find a picture to post. It is kind of like the one below, but 5 square (princess cut) diamonds, instead of baguettes.

Well, the weekend is a distant memory and I'm able to write now since I went to bed at 8 last night and got some well needed sleep! Ian has (as usual) been a terrible sleeper the last 4-5 nights. He wakes early and often and now has started crying hysterically to get what he wants (to sleep with Mommy & Daddy). Not fun. He also spent the weekend mostly hitting, biting and pinching Don and myself. When he wasn't doing that he was throwing his toys around. I'm a little concerned but everyone is telling me this is what boys do. Time out is becoming less effective, so we need to come up with a new strategy. So now do you know why I was tired?

Baby #2 is behaving quite well, in contrast. She moves around and occasionally sits on a odd organ or something, but she is overall very good....and quiet (he he). She enjoyed going to see Elmo Makes Music with us at the Civic Center this weekend. Ian thought that it was too loud, but the baby was just fine.

Congratulations to Bill, Erin & Paige! Shane William Corne was born this morning at 10:19 am. He was 9 lbs 2 oz and 22 inches long. Bill says that he looks like Pops!

It is funny reading over my last post. I had no idea what was to come. We had 5 straight days of rain (Friday through Tuesday) and then a few cold, overcast days. By the time I came home from work on Thursday, I was ready to bolt. Don wanted to hold out though, and we weathered a very interesting storm, Ernesto. Luckily, Sunday and Monday were beautiful, even though the beach was a mess from the storm.

I was really scared Saturday night. The winds were so strong and the water was up to the seawall. I'll post some pictures here when I can. Ian couldn't care less though. The house was shaking and everything. We made it.

It is back to work here. I can't believe that summer is over. My new nephew should be born any day. He is due on Thursday. We can't wait to meet him!
