Monday, Monday (la la, la la la la)

It has been a frustrating day and it is only quarter of two. I spilt 2 oz after pumping this morning. It was everywhere. Also, I found out that a friend's husband has a brain tumor. Horrible.

In more happy news, Don and Kara ran a 1/2 marthon yesterday and did great! I am so proud of them both. They are running the Boston 1/2 on Memorial Day weekend too. I will finally get to see Don run a race if the weather cooperates. It is tough bringing both kids out if it is rainy or too cold.

Weekends go by sooo fast now. Between taking care of 2 kids and trying to do something fun as a family, it seems like there is no time. Ian and Leah got to go to a playground on Sunday and to the Library on Saturday.

Leah is on the brink of rolling over (back to front). Ian rolled when he was a few days past 3 months old, so she is behind him. That is fine with me. Ian "won" Bullseye the Horse for going potty last week and now he has the complete Toy Story 2 set (Buzz, Woody, Jessie & Bullseye). Most of his playtime is spent taking them camping, having them rescue eachother, or pretending that they are sleeping. He also has developed this strange attachement to a little cow bean bag toy.

It is already one of those days. I hardly slept last night because Leah has decided that it is fun to wake up every hour. What happened to my good sleeper? Someone bring her back! Then (already late to work), I my rear passenger tire blows out on the highway. Thank goodness for AAA! That should be a pretty expensive fix.

On the good front, it is AMAZING outside! All weekend it was awesome. Ian and Don worked really hard cleaning up the back yard and picking up garbage in our woods. What good contributors to Earth Day they were! Ian spent all morning on Saturday in underwear. He had a little bit of leaks, but for the most part, he stayed dry and used the potty when he needed too. Don and I had a night out on Saturday and we hired our first official babysitter (it only took 3 years). Lauren is our 16 year old paper girl and she did great. We went to dinner with some friends and enjoyed the kid-free time.

Quick funny. Ian askes me every day when I get home "did you have fun at work, Mommy?". At first, I said not really, but he will keep asking until I say I did have fun. Then I ask him about his day. He usually ends up telling me what he did 2 weeks ago, but it is a fun conversation.

Greetings! I'm at work on a Monday after a LONG 3 day weekend. It was nice to start my first full week back on a 4 day week. It was a long one though. Enough about work (its boring). Onto more fun stuff...

Ian and Leah had a great Easter. The Easter Bunny brought them both baskets at home. Ian's favorites were Buzz and Woody (he'd been eyeing them at the Disney store for some time), the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse DVD, and a Sponge Bob bathing suit. Leah's was much smaller, but she got a new rattle and a cute pink dress. The Easter Bunny was careful to leave the baskets in the garage because Ian is scared of him being in the house. Santa is OK, bunnies are not.

They were lucky because the Easter Bunny also left baskets for them at Nana and Papa's house. Ian got a really cool foam "rocket launcher" that he played with all day yesterday. He also got 2 DVDs and a hat. He really is a lucky kid! On Saturday, he got to color eggs with Nana. He liked it alot, but wanted to eat the eggs as they were drying. He went to 2 egg hunts and it was really cold. I'd think that he would have liked them more if it was warm out. He really improved his egg gathering skills in the last year. He would only go for one last year. Now he gets as many as he can.

Leah is giving us a hard time at night. We think it is gas. She sleeps for a few hours then wakes up every hour or so crying. She lifts her legs in the air, thrashes her arms and swings her head from side to side. Don and I are switching off on baby duty, but it is tough.

Well, I'm back to work full time. I miss my kids!

When I got home last night, Ian gave me a big hug and told me that he missed me. I don't know if he was just buttering me up to let him watch TV or what. Leah slept lousy last night, but slept through the night the night before. You never know what you are going to get with that girl. She is a smiler though. Even when she is about to cry, she will give you a smile right before it turns into a frown.

I don't have a ton to write about (unless you want to hear about pumping). I'll spare you all.
