Sleeping update! Ian did much better going to sleep on his own last night. It only took about 10 minutes and he got up about 5 or 6 times. I think we are on the right track! His trick to get me to come in is that I'll tuck him in, then as soon as I leave, he kicks off the covers and starts weining about "covers! covers!". I did it 3 or so times and then told him no more.

The only thing that threw him off was that when he woke up around 1 to come into our bed (yes, this is the next thing we will be working on), he went wandering around the house looking for me. He figured that I was still awake. So he started crying and I found him standing confused in the kitchen.

On the way to work this morning, I was groovin along to "Smooth" by Santana and all of the sudden and giant moth flies in my face. I'm on the highway mind you....and it is pouring. Great! I actually manage to get it out of the car rather quickly. I do discover that I've slowed down to 55 and I'm in the left lane. It just made me wonder that maybe next time I'm behind a car going slow in the left lane, I should be patient because maybe a giant moth is attacking the driver.

Ian didn't do quite so well with the falling asleep on his own last night. I put him to bed around 8 and at 9 he was still up! No crying though. I just had to bring him back to his bed 20 times or so. Is this the only way to do this? Anyone?

Heather loaned me some great maternity clothes this weekend. She is 6 inches taller and much skinnier than me, so I had little hope that they would fit. However, wonder of wonders, the pants and skirts fit! It doubled my current wardrobe. Of course, I think that some of the pants that are capris on her are full length on me, but that is OK.

Ian fell asleep on his own in his big boy bed last night. For the past 6 (!) months, I've been laying on the floor of his room until he fell asleep. Last night, I'd had enough and told him that mommy was going to the next room. Well after only 5 minutes of crying and 5 times out of the bed, he went to sleep! Yipee! Let's hope tonight goes well too.

I made my first purchase for the new baby today. An Amby bed. You can google it to see what it is. We borrowed Ian's crib from some friends of friends and we returned it this past winter. So baby #2 has no bed. This Amby bed is kind of a baby hammock. Ian wasn't a great sleeper and had some reflux and this type of bed is supposed to help with all of that.

I bought it from someone who only used it twice on Ebay. Ebay is so great for kids things. I'm picking it up tomorrow because they live in Norwalk which looks to be about 20-25 minutes from Becca's.

Had to post twice in one day with a great picture!
This is how I know I'm pregnant. I was on my way to work this morning listening to a repeat (why was it a repeat?) of Howard Stern and he had the Dixie Chicks on. He played their song "Goodbye Earl". It is about a woman who is abused by and kills her husband (poison). It is a very tongue in cheek song, not depressing at all. But what do I do? Start crying! Huh? Thank God I was in my car by myself. What a freak I am!

This weekend Don participated in the Relay for Life in New Jersey, so Saturday was a Mommy and Ian day. After weekends like this, I tend to be much nicer to Don. It was tough. Ian was overtired because....well who knows why, but it made him much weinier (sp?) than usual. I couldn't leave the room for a second before he was crying "Mom-my!". He was also very demanding and any mentioning of the word "please" went out the window.

Question of the Week: Why is it that when it is 100 degrees does your 2 year old want to be stuck to you?

Sometimes it is hard being the one at work. Today was a big day for Ian. His favorite playgroup leader, Guy, was at a special "Party in the Park" for kids today. They had crafts and food and of course, a sing along with Guy. Don and I knew that Ian would love it. Thank goodness Don took lots of pictures, because Ian had a blast. I know that I am lucky to have such a nice job that allows us to have one of us stay at home, but some days, I wish it was me. Don't worry, in a few days I'll post about how I was glad to be at work because of a major meltdown.

The weather is finally right - sunny and warm! THAT is what June should be like, not rainy and cold. I went outside for lunch today. This week is Raising Money for the Arts week at Phoenix so they have live performances outside at lunchtime all week. Yesterday they even through in some cake.

I dressed Ian in a sleeveless shirt and shorts that he got for his birthday last year this morning. It is adorable. It's so wierd that at 12 months he was wearing 18 month clothing and at 24 months, he is wearing 24 month clothing. The sizing finally slowed down. His favorite saying right now is "NO WAY!".....and you have to yell it. Thanks to my dad that taught that to him. I hear it in my sleep now.

Soda is my new craving. I don't really remember having cravings with Ian, but I remember after I had him I fell in love with ice cream. Anyway, soda is way bad for you and I don't drink it that often when I'm not pregnant. I'm allowing myself 2 a week. Is that bad? I must remember that drug addicts can have healthy babies, so a little soda won't be so bad, right? Am I rationalizing here?

Here's a recent pic of Ian and the Frain girls in their PJs. Enjoy!

I think the morning sickness is going away. Please cross your fingers for me. I'm 13 weeks along now and that is the end of the first trimester. We had an ultrasound last week and if I'm good, I'll scan the pictures in for you all. Our "big" ultrasound is July 19th when everyone will get to know "what it is".

No more My Space. That is what Phoenix told me anyway. So I'll try this forum. Maybe more of you can get to it. I'm going to blog here about Baby #2 (otherwise known as Don Clone #2). This way I can let everyone know about my aches and pains and all that other good stuff.

Weird thing about this pregnancy. I can't eat pasta. It is bad news for my digestive system. Who has trouble with pasta? You'd think it would be the tamest food out there. Of course, I forgot and for lunch had macaroni and cheese. Yikes, I feel terrible this afternoon. Serves me right for being so dumb!
